The title of this post is exactly how I feel. This winter I seemed to have hunkered down and hibernated and now that spring is approaching (and I have a week off from work) I am cleaning, organizing, and feeling like I have more energy.
I have not been up to much these past few months, but here is a month by month recap (of what I can remember):
November:
In mid-November we got our first snow. It didn't stay long, but overall this winter was very snowy. Here are two pictures of our snowy deck.
We stayed in town for Thanksgiving and had a very nice dinner with a co-worker and her boyfriend. We bought a turkey from one of our Farmer's Market vendors. It was organic and about 20 lbs and very delicious. It almost didn't fit in my roasting pan, but I made it work. Here is a picture of our dinner...we had sooo much food.
December:
The first weekend of December I went with some co-workers to see the Musical "In the Heights". It was SOOOO good. We got our tickets through work, so we were three rows back from the stage. The dancing and singing was so great. That was my first musical and hopefully not my last.
During Christmas time we stayed at home again. I had to work Christmas eve, but then I had a week off starting Christmas day. We watched all of our holiday movies and made a dinner on Christmas eve. We bought a ham from a different farmer at the Farmer's Market and we had lot of cookies, of course. Here is a picture of our tree.
January and February:
Both of these months seem like a blur. I know my work life was very busy during these months and my hubby was very busy as well, so the weeks just sped by. I made some fun sugar cookies for Valentine's Day. We watched a lot of Olympics and other shows on DVD. We started watching this really good Canadian show called Heartland. It based off a book series by Lauren Brooke. We bought season 1 on DVD around Christmas and season 2 will be out soon. Otherwise we have to watch episodes online.
March:
So far not much to report. The weather is getting nicer and all of our snow has melted (it only took about a week). Here are couple pictures from today looking out of our patio. It has been raining and looks quite dreary, but yesterday was sunny and in the 50's.
I hope everyone reading this is doing well. Sorry for the gap in posts. Hopefully I will be out of hibernation now. I am definitely excited for spring and can't wait to see buds on trees and flowers emerging from the ground.
Until next time, Ciao :)
